Dr. Begoña Gonzalez Otero

Dr. Begoña Gonzalez Otero is a Spanish lawyer specialising in information law and competition law. She is an enthusiastic professional with an outstanding cross-functional background both as an academic administrator, legal counsel and researcher. Dr Otero has recently joined the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition as a Senior Research Fellow. Previously, she has worked as an independent consultant for large companies, European projects such as the Latin-American IPR Helpdesk and international associations such as the International Association of Public Transport (UITP). She is also former Dean of EU Business School, a Swiss private educational institution with campuses in three countries. Before writing her Ph.D., she worked as an IP lawyer both in Spain and Germany.

With experience in legal strategic consulting, higher education accreditation, partnerships negotiation, and change management, Begoña is a dynamic communicator and strategic thinker with a talent for maximising cost-efficiency by restructuring processes and improving service quality while strengthening the bottom-line. She is a member of several international and local professional bodies, former guest researcher of the Institute for Information Law (IViR) of the University of Amsterdam, former scholarship holder of the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition and a published author.
