Prof. Lea Tochtermann

Prof. Lea Tochtermann is a professor of Private Law and European Patent Law at the University of Mannheim, Germany. She is affiliated to the University’s Interdisciplinary Center for Intellectual Property (IZG). She studied law at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, and at Sciences Po, Paris. Prof. Tochtermann wrote her doctoral thesis at the University of Mannheim on protection of licenses in case the underlying IP-right is subsequently transferred or licensed to a third party ("Sukzessionsschutz im Recht des Geistigen Eigentums“). Her current research focuses of topics of IP, particularly patent law, mainly in the context of private international law and international civil procedure law.
