Jatta (Rantala) Toro
Mrs. Jatta Toro is an experienced intellectual property (IP) professional with 20 years of background in telecom and quantum computing in strategic, tactical, and operational roles. This includes extensive experience from both private and in-house IP practices within global corporations like Nokia and Tieto and small to medium-sized enterprises like IQM Quantum Computers, Berggren and Greip IP Solutions. Mrs. Toro is passionate about simplifying IP concepts to decision makers, improving IP value extraction, increasing IP awareness within SMEs and facilitating licensing of standardized technologies and SEPs. She is proficient in translating complex legal issues into business terms and technical contexts. She has a proven track record of enhancing IP operations of a Quantum Computing startup, IQM, while also creating with her team what is recognized today as one of the best IP portfolios in the field of quantum computing. Mrs. Toro holds Engineering Degree (M.Sc. in Electrical and Communications Engineering from Helsinki University of Technology) and is also finalizing her IP law studies at Hanken School of Economy. She is a registered Finnish Patent Attorney and member of different IP organizations (LES Scandinavia, EuroQuIC IPT WG, Finnish Association for Industrial Property Rights and Finnish Association for Corporate Agents).
